Thomas Morley (1557/8-1602) was the foremost member of the English madrigal school. He and Robert Johnson are the composers of the only surviving contemporary settings of verse by William Shakespeare.
The 2-part instrumental "Fantasies" come from a print entitled The First Booke of Canzonets to Two Voyces, first printed in London in 1595, and dedicated to Ladie Periam.
Originally, the print contains the Fantasies, interspersed with 2-part vocal Canzonets, which are to all practical purposes 2-part madrigals. I separated the vocal and instrumental pieces into two volumes, both offered on edition Prima Vista.
When ordering, please specify which version you want: the one in original clefs (G and C) or the one in modern (G) clefs.
